Radovljica
Near Bled lies the medieval town of Radovljica. The heart of Radovljica is Linhart Square, a small gem of medieval architecture with numerous museums, galleries, traditional restaurants and many cultural events.
You will be delighted by the richly decorated façades, the stone steps and the interesting baroque hall in the Town House. The Beekeeping Museum holds the largest collection of decorated beehive panels, as well as a living hive with a queen bee.
The Town Museum is the place where the life and work of Anton Tomaž Linhart, the father of Slovenian theatre, is presented. The permanent display shows written works, rich costumes, and the best-known heroine from his works, Micika.
The sweet scent of authentic honey hearts that spreads through the town comes from the cellar of the Lectar restaurant. The workshop produces sweet little surprise gifts, made according to old recipes and with old-fashioned equipment. The first gingerbread and candle workshop began operating back in 1766, and later a traditional restaurant with authentic furniture and top-class gastronomy was also opened.
